Concussion and traumatic brain injury often result in an interruption to the neurological control of the eyes, the visual pathways, and visual interpretation. Visual symptoms can include:  blurred vision, double vision, reading difficulties, dizziness, misjudging depth perception, headaches, brain fog &  light sensitivity.  

An orthoptic assessment looks at these symptoms, and a customised evidence based vision / eye therapy program is prescribed to encourage a return to normal visual function.

Providing a specialised fitting service for Fresnel temporary prisms, for patients with recent onset diplopia (double vision) or for those contemplating strabismus surgery with their ophthalmologist. 

We carry the entire range of Fresnel prisms in stock, so that we can fit you with what you need immediately if required.

Providing specialised assessment and treatment for eye movement disorders, and general disorders of focus and binocular vision. These problems can exhibit as headaches and eye strain, or blurred or double vision.

Exercises are designed to improve eye alignment and neurological control, without the need to prescribe glasses for this purpose. The programme prescribed is designed to be undertaken at home, with review in clinic every 4 to 6 weeks.

Skills that can be improved include convergence, divergence, accommodation, binocular vision, fusion, gaze stability, saccades and smooth pursuits. 

Assessment of an individual's vision requirements related to low vision, with the aim of returning that person to meaningful and independent engagement in an activity that they love. 

We work to tailor a solution to your specific vision needs, so that vision impairment is less of a barrier to reading, craft, puzzles and life in general.

Age appropriate unbiased and independent vision screening, eye movement, binocular vision, and colour vision testing. 

All equipment and tests required are brought out to your school or preschool. Children are given a report at the end of their assessment, with recommendations for care given when required. Those referred for follow up are encouraged to see an ophthalmologist, or optometrist of their own choosing.

We offer staff trained and familiar with clinical trial vision testing. Staff have undertaken Good Clinical Practice training, and are familiar with working with pharmaceutical, biotech and CRO clients. Previous clinical trial involvement includes administration, clinical and technical staff for an intraocular lens comparator study (phase III), and a small molecule treatment study (phase I).
